Handmade by Inuit at the Arctic Circle. Created by an Inuk artist from the community of Pangnirtung, Baffin Island, this craft reflects the design and handcraft traditions of the Inuit of Canada’s Eastern Arctic.

In 1987 the Inuit artists of Pangnirtung established the Uqqurmiut Inuit Artists Association to assist with the creation and direct marketing of their arts and crafts. The Uqqurmiut (people of the lee side) operate the Centre For Arts and Crafts in Pangnirtung, and welcome visitors.
