Monarch Butterflies take 3 to 5 generations to complete their full migration circle from Mexico to Canada and back again. These endangered insects connect an entire continent through their migration; the group knowledge and instinct of these multiple generations allows them to complete what seems like an insurmountable journey. A group of butterflies is often called a kaleidoscope.
